Joel F. Newell was admitted to the Arizona Bar in 2008 and joined Wright, Finlay & Zak in 2019. Prior to joining Wright Finlay & Zak, Mr. Newell’s practice focused on representation of creditors and landlords in Chapter 11 commercial bankruptcy cases and Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy trustees. Since joining Wright, Finlay & Zak, Mr. Newell focuses his practice on all areas of creditor rights in both commercial and consumer bankruptcy law including Chapter 11, 13 and 7 matters, adversary litigation, relief from stay matters, proofs of claim, plan objections and all other substantive bankruptcy motions. He also focuses on real estate litigation, including lender and servicer liability defense, wrongful foreclosure defense, fair debt collection practices defense, and title disputes.

Mr. Newell is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Arizona, including the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in the District of Arizona, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and United States Supreme Court. Mr. Newell is a member of the Arizona State Bar – Bankruptcy Section and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
