Joshua Schaer joined Wright, Finlay & Zak in January 2019 as a Senior Associate Attorney after practicing both civil and criminal law for over 17 years. His experience includes representing financial institutions in litigation, including managing discovery, motions and appeals. Mr. Schaer has provided advice and on-site training presentations to numerous mortgage servicers on a variety of legal issues. He has also prevailed in all three divisions of the Washington Court of Appeals, the Washington and Idaho Supreme Courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

From 2008-2015, Mr. Schaer served two elected terms on the Issaquah, Washington City Council and was appointed chair of a regional transportation board. He is qualified as a pro tem judge in the King County District Court in Washington and he previously volunteered for both the Skyline High School mock trial team and Bellevue College Foundation.
