Foreclosure and Default Services Division

Wright, Finlay & Zak's ("WFZ") Foreclosure and Default Services Division handles residential and commercial foreclosures throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, and Utah. On the residential side, WFZ has leveraged its mortgage industry expertise and its network of industry-leading independent trustees to deliver a high level of compliance, customer service, and efficiency. Our foreclosure trustees work hand-in-hand with our attorneys to make sure all Government-Sponsored Enterprise ("GSE") or other investor guidelines are met. Furthermore, many nationwide loan servicers have received the green light from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to use WFZ for their non-judicial foreclosure in California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Utah, and Oregon.”

On the commercial side or, when necessary, on a residential loan, WFZ handles complex judicial foreclosures, receivership actions, loan workouts and deficiency actions throughout most states on the West Coast including California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, and Utah.

WFZ is very active in the key industry groups, including the United Trustees Association (UTA), American Legal and Foreclosure Network (ALFN), California Mortgage Association (CMA), California Mortgage Bankers Association (CMBA) and Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Robert Finlay, one of the firm's founding partners, has been on the UTA's Board since 2008, served as its President in 2011 and 2012 and, beginning in 2013, became the Chair of the Legislative Committee. Joyce Copeland, the firm's Director of Default Operations, is also a key member of the UTA's Board, serving as its President in 2013 and 2014. In addition to active industry participation, WFZ is involved in default-related lobbying efforts in many of the states on the West Coast. With direct access to lobbyists in California, Nevada, Washington, and Oregon, we are able to stay ahead of the ever increasing legislative changes and, in many instances, positively influence new laws. Being involved with proposed laws at the drafting stage also allows WFZ to ensure that our servicing and other clients are in compliance with the new laws when they go into effect.
